Feedbot is a private Discord bot that reads selected channels in a game's Discord servers and groups bug reports and feedback for the game's development team. This policy explains what Feedbot collects from Discord, what it does with that data and how to ask for your data to be deleted.
What Feedbot collects
Feedbot reads messages only in the channels it is set up to read, including their threads and forum posts. For each message, it stores:
- the message text and any embed text
- the author's Discord user ID, username, display name and server nickname
- the channel name and the thread or forum post title
- the time the message was posted or edited, and which message it replies to
- the number of reactions and replies
How Feedbot uses it
Feedbot uses this data to:
- label each message as a bug report, feedback or general discussion
- write short summaries and group related messages into items
- show developers those items, to inform them of the most pressing bugs and feedback in their game, and how those issues shape over time
Feedbot does not create profiles, pages or statistics about individual people. It makes no decisions about individuals, does not moderate anyone and does not use the data for advertising.
Where data protection law requires a legal basis, Feedbot relies on legitimate interests: understanding and fixing problems players report, and improving the game from their feedback.
Who can see or receive the data
- The game's development team can see your messages as data points on an aggregator dashboard.
- Feedbot's service providers host the data and process message text on Feedbot's behalf, as described under Sub-processors.
Feedbot does not sell this data or share it with advertisers. It may disclose data if the law requires it. Discord's own handling of your data is covered by Discord's Privacy Policy.
Sub-processors
Feedbot uses third-party service providers (sub-processors) to perform essential functions on its behalf, under each provider's standard business terms. The current sub-processors are:
- Fly.io, Inc. (United Kingdom region): application hosting and data storage
- Anthropic (United States): AI labelling, summaries and grouping of messages
Feedbot sends Anthropic the text of each message, along with its channel name, its thread or forum post title and the text of the message it replies to. Feedbot does not send author names or user IDs, but Anthropic will see any names or details people wrote in the message itself. Neither Feedbot nor Anthropic uses message content to train AI models, and Anthropic handles it only to provide this service. Transfers to the United States are covered by standard contractual clauses.
How long data is kept
Data is kept for as long as the game is actively developed or supported, so the team can see whether a problem comes back over time. This period is reviewed once a year.
Deleting a message on Discord does not remove Feedbot's copy, but you can ask for it to be deleted as described below.
Deleting your data
To ask for your data to be deleted, email [CONTACT EMAIL] with your Discord username or user ID. Feedbot will delete your stored messages, their labels and your stored names within 30 days.
Feedbot may not be able to find your data without enough information to verify that it is yours. Validated requests receive a response within 30 days, subject to applicable legal requirements.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access or correct your data, have it deleted, restrict how it is used or object to it being used. To make a request, use the email address above. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated as Feedbot changes or as new legal requirements apply. The current version is always on this page, and the date at the top shows when it was last updated.
